Dr Swan has been a privately practicing Consultant Cardiologist since 1995, when he was also appointed at North Manchester General Hospital. He qualified as MBChB at Manchester University in 1983.

Dr Swan was awarded MD in cardiology in 1994 following a period of original research. Since being appointed as Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Swan has been instrumental in the development of a new and very successful Interventional Cardiology service for the North East Manchester region based in the Pennine Acute Trust’s Silver Heart Unit
